DUI Driver Flees and Crashes into Tree near McKee Road
MERCED, CA (November 5, 2018) – Two people were injured following a DUI Crash on East Olive Avenue, early Monday evening. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed to the public.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 5:15 PM near McKee Road. A Honda was stopping at the northbound stop sign when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The woman driving the pickup did not stop after the collision and attempted to speed off.
A short time later, she crashed into a tree in the area of Silverado Avenue and McKee.
The female driver of the Honda sustained injuries to her neck, while the pickup driver complained of pain to her face. It is unknown whether or not the drivers required further medical attention. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
Investigators believe that the pickup driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash, but it is unclear if charges were made. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
