Two Men Injured after Chandler Pedestrian Collision on Fairview Street
CHANDLER, AZ (October 1, 2019) — Two people sustained injuries in a pedestrian collision on Fairview Street on Monday, September 30.
Chandler police said that the two pedestrians moved west on Fairview Street approaching Arizona Avenue at about 5:50 p.m.
According to the police, a vehicle heading west struck a 19-year-old man and a 48-year-old man. The 48-year-old was in a wheelchair, police stated. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Investigators have ruled out impairment as a factor in the incident. They said that the driver told them the sun was in their eyes and the collision occurred as they were lowering the visor.
The pedestrians sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
