Two Hospitalized, Manuel Sanchez Arrested in Santa Maria Pursuit Crash
SANTA MARIA, CA (February 18, 2019) – Thursday morning, Manuel Sanchez was arrested following a police-pursuit chase on Donovan Road and Broadway.
At about 9:30 a.m., a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Manuel DeJesus Castellanos Sanchez collided into another vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and Donovan Road.
Earlier in the morning, Santa Maria Police received a be-on-the-lookout report from Guadalupe Police about a stolen vehicle. A California Highway Patrol officer saw the vehicle and called for backup.
According to reports, the driver then drove away and led law enforcement on a chase that led officers to Highway 101. He then left the freeway at the Donovan Street exit, and crashed near the Broadway intersection.
Guadalupe and Santa Maria Police both rushed to the scene and arrested Sanchez. Two people sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
