Two Hospitalized in Highway 101 Mini Van Crash [Garberville, CA]

Garberville, CA (February 13, 2022) – On Friday, at about 7:20 a.m., two people sustained injuries in Highway 101 mini van crash.

Officers said a northbound vehicle made a left turn across the roadway and struck a guardrail.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered and rested in the center divide. It partially blocked the number one lanes for both north and southbound of the freeway.

An officer said, “The driver exited the vehicle and was very frantic.” He said she was trying to get people to assist her and responded physically by throwing rocks and attempting to hit passing vehicles with her hands when they didn’t stop.

The paramedics rushed the driver and the passenger to Jerold Phelps Hospital in Garberville for evaluation. Luckily, they did not sustain serious injuries.

Officers are investigating this collision.
