Injuries Sustained in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62
MORONGO VALLEY, CA (August 1, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries after a crash on Highway 62, Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Senilis Avenue around 12:58 PM. Based on an initial report, a pick-up truck and another vehicle were involved in the accident. It is not yet clear in what manner the collision occurred.
Firefighters worked to extricate a woman pinned inside the truck. She suffered injuries and listed in a critical condition. A man driving the other vehicle also sustained injuries. Paramedics transported both victims by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway closed while rescue and clearing operations took place in the area. The CHP is still investigating the case.
