Two Hospitalized after DUI Car Accident at 5 Freeway

SEATTLE, WA (December 3, 2018) – On Monday morning, two drivers were injured in a head-on collision on West Seattle Bridge.

Reports revealed that the crash was due to impaired driving and took place near the 5 Freeway. According to Trooper Rick Johnson with the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred after 10:00 AM when a Honda Civic traveled east in the westbound lanes across the bridge.

While the vehicle came close to the on-ramp from the freeway, it crashed head-on with a Toyota Prius. A third vehicle crashed into the side barrier while attempting to avoid the collision.

As a result, both the Prius and Civic drivers were transported to the Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. The driver of the third vehicle and his two passengers were reportedly unharmed in the accident. The 28-year-old Civic driver will be detained for investigation of DUI and vehicular assault, following medical treatment.
