Semi-Truck Involved in Accident near Highway 395
BORON, CA (April 7, 2019) – Two people were critical after a fiery crash on westbound Highway 58, Sunday afternoon.
According to CHP, the collisions took place at approximately 2:53 PM just east of Highway 395. Based on an initial report, a Freightliner tractor-trailer traveled westbound. However, it failed to slow with traffic and struck four vehicles. They were a white Chevrolet Silverado, a black Cadillac DTS, a white Nissan Maxima, and a black Hyundai Sonata. For an unknown reason, at least one vehicle caught fire in the pile-up.
The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. At least nine people sustained injuries. Two of them sustained critical injuries and were airlifted to trauma centers. Seven people sustained moderate to minor injuries.
Towing services were requested for a clearing operation was conducted in the area. In addition, an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
