59-Year-Old Female Hurt in Auto Collision near Rappahannock Avenue in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 14, 2020) – Thursday afternoon, a 59-year-old woman sustained critical injuries in a two-car crash on Clairemont Drive.
Officers received reports shortly before 4:10 p.m., near the Rappahannock Avenue intersection. According to reports, the woman was traveling north in a 2011 Toyota Corolla on Clairemont Drive.
As she steered to the left, she suddenly rear-ended a 2007 Jeep Wrangler in the left turn lane.
The impact of the collision consequently caused the Jeep to roll on its side.
Medical responders transported the female to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment for her life-threatening injuries. However, there has been no update on her current condition.
Meanwhile, the Jeep’s driver was treated on scene after complaining of pain.
Following preliminary duties, officers confirmed that intoxication did not play a role in the accident. No further information has been released to the public at this time.
