24-Year-Old Woman Hits Arlington Police Vehicle in DUI Accident near Smokey Point Boulevard
ARLINGTON, WA (August 8, 2019) – Two Arlington Police officers sustained injuries in a DUI Crash on Highway 530, early Thursday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 1:45 AM, near Smokey Point Boulevard. Dispatchers arrived just west of Arlington shortly after.
A 24-year-old woman was driving a dark-colored vehicle with her headlights off while attempting to turn left. The female eventually struck an officers’ vehicle as a result.
A training officer and officer-in-training sustained multiple injuries due to the impact of the collision. Paramedics later transported the two victims to Cascade Valley Hospital for further treatment. However, police did not release their current conditions to the public.
In addition, authorities suspected the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated at the time. As a result, police later booked her into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of DUI and driving without headlights.
Furthermore, an investigation is currently on-going. However, police have not released additional information at this time.
