Two Airlifted in Big Rig Crash on State Route 243 [Grant County, WA]

Grant County, WA (April 28, 2022) – on Thursday morning, a 27-year-old truck driver from San Antonio, TX., and a 37-year-old male passenger from Springfield, MO., sustained injuries in a big rig crash on State Route 243.

The authorities received the crash report past 7:00 a.m. along the Columbia River.

According to the investigators, the driver was southbound when the wheels of her truck left the roadway and began to tilt off the road.

The driver overcorrected and the truck rolled over to the side of the roadway.

Immediately, a Life Flight helicopter airlifted the driver and her passenger to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with non-fatal injuries.

Moreover, investigating officers believed the driver was distracted when the collision happened. 

Traffic crews closed the Grant County roadway for three hours as they investigated. Reports say both the vehicle and its trailer were totaled.

The authorities consider distracted driving as a factor in this accident. Intoxication from alcohol or drugs did not play a role in this collision.
