TUSTIN, CA – Man Dead in Big Rig Collision on Interstate 5

Fatal Accident on I-5 at Tustin Ranch Road

 
TUSTIN, CA (May 10, 2018) – A big rig collision on Interstate 5 took the life of a man, early Thursday morning. His identity was not immediately released.
 
The fatal accident occurred around 2:30 AM on the southbound 5 Freeway, at Tustin Ranch Road. It involved a red Nissan Versa and a white semi-truck that was parked on the right shoulder of the highway.
 
Events leading up to the collision were not disclosed, but the Nissan rear-ended the big rig. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the vehicle was severely damaged. A SigAlert was issued for several hours. The No. 4 and 5 lanes of I-5 were temporarily closed while authorities investigated the scene. Officials continue to search for the cause of the incident.
