FRESNO, CA (March 7, 2022) – Saturday night, a Tulare police officer suffered injuries in a crash on Olive Avenue.
The crash occurred just before 7:00 p.m. on Olive Avenue.
According to reports, officers found a car matching a stolen vehicle’s description out of Fresno. Then, the police tried to stop the driver but she fled.
Thus, officers requested the CHP to assist in the pursuit as it made its way into Lindsay.
When the suspect ran the stop sign on Olive Avenue, it crashed into the sergeant and knocked him unconscious.
According to officers, the suspect traveled at speeds of 50 to 60 mph. Then, as the suspect drove along the way, she crashed into another vehicle.
Officers identified the driver as 36-year-old Lacy Gonzales of Fresno. Also, the passenger was identified as 42-year-old Dustin Lewis.
At this time, the authorities continue to investigate whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
May this incident be a reminder for all motorists to drive responsibly. Drivers should also keep in mind that distracted driving, speeding, and failing to yield will lead to dangerous road accidents.

Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious auto accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer fighting on behalf of the injured party.
