TRUCKEE, CA – One Killed in Two-Car Crash on Highway 89 at Cabin Creek Road

Fatal 2-Car Head-On Collision on Highway 89 in Truckee

 
TRUCKEE, CA (January 26, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a two-car crash Saturday night in Truckee.
 
The crash happened around 6:34 p.m. on northbound Highway 89 at Cabin Creek Road.
 
According to an initial report by the CHP, a dark-colored SUV with no headlights went into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a gray 4-door sedan.
 
When officers arrived, they found at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
 
Both cars sustained significant damage and were towed away for evidence.
 
Details surrounding the collision were not made clear in the reports and media releases. The incident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol to ascertain additional information.
