1 Injured and Horse Killed in Turlock Accident on E Harding Road

 
TURLOCK, CA (August 12, 2021) – Wednesday, a truck hit a teenage horse rider in a crash on E Harding Road.
 
According to reports, the incident happened just after 9:00 a.m. A 19-year-old from Turlock rode the horse west on E Harding Road at the right edge of the road. Meanwhile, a northbound Chevy pickup truck on Youngstown Road turned into E Harding Road.
 
The truck driver admitted that he took his eyes off the road as he reached for something in the truck. When he looked back, he noticed the teen riding the horse and immediately turned left.
 
However, the truck spun counter-clockwise and crashed into the horse. The impact ejected the teen to the road.
 
According to investigators, the horse succumbed to its injuries. Then, Stanislaus County Animal Services transported it from the scene.
 
Meanwhile, responders took the teen to the hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
Also, the truck driver suffered no injuries in the crash.
