55-Year-Old Male Bicyclist Airlifted after Bicycle Collision on Corwin Road in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, CA (April 16, 2020) – Early Tuesday afternoon, a 55-year-old man was injured in a bicycle collision on Corwin Road.
The collision occurred around 12:19 p.m., on April 14. Dispatchers arrived to the area on Corwin Road and Central Road, shortly after.
As the bicyclist was heading west on Corwin Road, a 67-year-old driver of a 2019 white Toyota Tacoma pickup-truck was traveling north.
As they were approaching the intersection, the Toyota eventually struck the bicyclist.
Upon emergency crews’ arrival, they located the bicyclist down on the road with major injuries. Due to his condition, firefighters dispatched a helicopter to airlift him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities ask anyone with information call the Victorville CHP Office at 760-241-1186.
