34-Year-Old Troy Redmond Killed in Cordes Lakes Motorcycle Crash
Cordes Lakes, AZ (September 28, 2020) – On Wednesday, 34-year-old Troy Redmond of Cordes Lakes in Yavapai County, died in a motorcycle crash near Antelope Road and Thunderbird Trail.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 11:45 a.m. on September 23. Someone reported that a motorcyclist lost control and collided head-on with a truck.
Dwight D’Evelyn of the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said, “The driver of the involved trash truck stated he was west on Antelope Road and saw a motorcycle moving in a south/easterly direction towards him. The rider appeared to lose control and collided with the front of his truck,”
“Another witness confirmed the statement indicating the rider went left of center, or the wrong way on Antelope Road, before colliding with the truck.”, he added.
Moreover, deputies said Redmond was not wearing a helmet.
The medical team treated him at the scene. Then, they rushed him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to investigators, preliminary findings indicate speed and failure to control the motorcycle were factors in this crash.
