29-Year-Old Trista Poletski Killed in Eureka Motorcycle Crash
Eureka, CA (September 19, 2020) – On Friday, 29-year-old Trista Poletski of Eureka died, while 46-year-old Terri Welch, also of Eureka, got injured in a motorcycle-SUV crash on Walnut Drive.
The fatal accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. south of Greenbriar Lane.
The California Highway Patrol said Poletski was riding a 2007 Kymco motorcycle northbound on Walnut Drive at 40 to 45 miles per hour.
For whatever possible reason, the motorcycle switched to travel into the oncoming lane. She crashed into the front of a 2007 Dodge Nitro heading in the opposite direction.
Immediately, the medical team arrived and provided her life-saving aid. However, Poletski still died at the scene.
On the other hand, Welch, the SUV driver incurred minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the CHP Humboldt Area office investigates this incident. They ask anyone with information to call 707-822-5981.
Sweet Lawyers extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Trista Poletski. May the bereaved find strength and comfort in this extremely difficult time.
Coping Up With Fatal Crash
Those closest to the victim may have the right to seek compensation for their loss. Some common examples include funeral expenses, medical bills, and what is called “loss of consortium.” Loss of consortium generally means the deprivation of future affection and companionship over an untimely death.
“Our goal is to safeguard the legal rights of families in the wake of catastrophic accidents. Although nothing can bring back those dearly departed, we strive to secure the future of our clients, protecting them from further losses,” explains Mark Sweet, a seasoned attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
