1 Dead in Scottsdale Auto Accident near Loop 101 and Mountain View Road

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (June 27, 2023) – Sunday night, a horrific pickup truck crash near Loop 101 ad Mountain View Road killed Travis Schilling.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety received a report of the crash at about 6:45 p.m. near Loop 101 and Mountain View Road.

Upon their arrival, they determined that a northbound pickup truck on Loop 101 crashed with the rear of an SUV.

As a result, the pickup veered off the road and went into a dirt embankment until it crashed through a metal fence.

Then, the pickup landed on its roof and fell 15 feet into a dry canal.

Meanwhile, the SUV also veered off the road and stopped with the rear half of the vehicles suspended over the canal.

After the crash, responders transported the SUV’s front-seat passenger to a hospital with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the pickup driver, 21-year-old Schilling of Clarkdale, died at the scene.

Also, the authorities haven’t ruled out impairment as a factor in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
