1 Dead in Harris County Auto Accident on Beltway 8 near Woodforest

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (April 3, 2023) – Sunday morning, a driver died in a tragic wrong-way crash on Beltway 8 near Woodforest.

The incident happened just before 5:00 a.m. on Beltway 8 southbound near Woodforest in east Harris County.

According to deputies with Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involved at least two vehicles on the southbound main lanes of Beltway 8.

Moreover, the wrong-way driver in a pick-up truck struck another driver in a sedan. Meanwhile, the driver who headed to work at the time succumbed to injuries at the scene

Then, responders transported the wrong-way driver to an area hospital where they remain in critical condition.

Officials with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office handle the crash investigation. The authorities are currently investigating whether the wrong-way driver who allegedly caused the crash was impaired at the time.
