3 People Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Elmo Highway and Scofield Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 16, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a tragic two-vehicle crash on Elmo Highway and Scofield Avenue killed three people.

The incident happened at around 3:00 p.m. on Elmo Highway and Scofield Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound gray 2016 Ram failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a northbound Toyota. Then, the force of the crash pushed the pickup to roll over onto its roof. Also, the impact of the crash ejected an occupant of the Toyota into the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Toyota, and two of his passengers, including the ejected passenger, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, responders transported the driver of the Ram to Kern Medical with moderate injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
