APPLE VALLEY, CA (June 30, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a tragic two-vehicle crash on Bear Valley Road near Kiowa Road killed one person.

The incident happened around 4:04 p.m. on Bear Valley Road, west of Kiowa Road.

According to Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez, the crash involved a red four-door sedan and a patrol vehicle that was responding to a call.

Moreover, responders pronounced an occupant of the red sedan, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the crash closed a section of Bear Valley Road for about 5 hours, but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department continued investigating the crash.
