Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash on US 281 Kills 1 [Jack County, TX]

1 Person Dead in Jack County Auto Accident on US 281

JACK COUNTY, TX (June 18, 2024) – Sunday morning, a tragic single-vehicle crash on US 281 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:45 a.m. on US 281.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2001 Dodge Dakota failed to negotiate a curve, crashed down a burrow ditch in a side skid, and collided with a fence and a tree. Then, the vehicle rolled over onto its side before it came to rest.

Moreover, responders pronounced a 16-year-old female passenger of the vehicle, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported three occupants of the avehicle to a hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the crash.
