ST LOUIS, MO (December 8, 2024) – Saturday morning, a tragic single-vehicle crash on Highway 79 near Route JJ killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. on Highway 79 near Route JJ.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2001 Ford Taurus veered off the roadway for still unknown reasons, crashed down an embankment, and collided with a tree.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the 36-year-old male driver of the vehicle died in the crash. Then, paramedics transported a 29-year-old male passenger of the vehicle to a hospital with moderate injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
