OCEANSIDE, CA (June 26, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a tragic pedestrian crash on State Route 78 near Jefferson Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:25 a.m. on State Route 78 near Jefferson Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound Mercedes Benz CLK320 sedan struck a male pedestrian for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 31-year-old male pedestrian, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the 59-year-old female driver of the Benz remained at the scene after the crash and reported the incident.
