NEWHALL, CA (September 17, 2024) – Sunday night, a tragic pedestrian crash on Sierra Highway near Quinn Drive killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:49 p.m. on Sierra Highway, just south of Quinn Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound gray 2015 Toyota Tacoma struck a Hispanic male Pedestrian who was walking in the opposite direction of traffic.

Moreover, responders rushed the pedestrian to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
