1 Person Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Accident on S Mission Road and South Via Tres Rios

TUCSON, AZ (November 1, 2023) – Saturday morning, a tragic pedestrian crash on S Mission Road and South Via Tres Rios killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. at S Mission Road and South Via Tres Rios.

According to the Tucson Police Department, a southbound 1996 Honda Accord hopped a curb and struck a pedestrian after hitting a raised median and veered into northbound lanes of traffic. Then, the driver of the Honda fled the scene on foot after the collision.

Moreover, responders rushed the male pedestrian to Banner University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the teen male driver of the Honda at a nearby residence.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
