Tragic Pedestrian Crash on Panama Lane Kills Woman [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (October 30, 2024) On Sunday evening, a woman was killed after a tragic pedestrian crash on Panama Lane.

According to Bakersfield Police, the deadly accident happened at about early Sunday evening, east of Kern Raceway.

Reports say that the woman lost her life after being hit by two vehicles along Panama Lane.

Bakersfield Police reported that the woman was walking on the roadway in a remote area of Panama Lane, just east of Kern Raceway, when a westbound pickup truck struck her.

The driver immediately called 911 and waited for authorities to arrive. However, as the woman lay on the road, a second vehicle, believed to be a sedan, hit her and then fled the scene. The woman was pronounced dead on site, marking the 44th pedestrian fatality in Kern County in 2024.

Bakersfield Police are actively investigating and request that anyone with information, particularly about the second vehicle’s make and model, contact them at 327-7111.
