SAN DIEGO, CA (July 3, 2023) – Saturday night, a tragic pedestrian crash on Pacific Highway and Rosecrans Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Pacific Highway at Rosecrans Street.

According to San Diego police Officer Darius Jamsetjee, a southbound 2019 Hyundai Elantra struck a male pedestrian who was walking northbound in the bike lane and crossed the roadway in front of the vehicle.

Moreover, responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, the crash blocked both directions of Pacific Highway between Rosecrans and the Interstate 8 underpass for several hours. All lanes have long since reopened.
