FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 23, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a man died in a tragic pedestrian crash on Mount Whitney Avenue and Hayes Avenue.

The incident occurred at about 12:40 a.m. on Mount Whitney Avenue and Hayes Avenue.

According to reports, a teenage driver struck and killed a man in Fresno County.

Reports said that a 30-year-old Fresno man ran across the roadway. Then, he went into the path of a Nissan 350Z going westbound.

Officers confirmed that the driver of the Nissan was a 16-year-old male from Riverdale.

The vehicle’s driver failed to take evasive action to avoid hitting the pedestrian. Then, upon impact, the man sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Also, the authorities do not believe the teen driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
