Police Investigates Deadly Auto-Pedestrian Tragedy on South Maple Street
Spokane, WA (September 8, 2023) On Wednesday evening, a woman was killed and a man seriously hurt in a pedestrian crash on Maple Street.
According to a Spokane police, the auto-pedestrian tragedy happened around 6:30 p.m. on South Maple Street and West Fourth Avenue.
Reports say a vehicle struck a man and a woman on the roadway, causing serious injuries to both pedestrians. Medics transported both patients to the hospital.
Authorities say that the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the man is still hospitalized with critical injuries.
Meanwhile, police say the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. Officials say that speed nor impairment were considered factors in the crash.
