Deadly Auto-Pedestrian Crash Near Hatch Road Under Investigation
Modesto, CA (April 17, 2024) On Tuesday afternoon, a tragic pedestrian crash on Highway 99 led to the demise of a man.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the auto-pedestrian crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on the east shoulder of Highway 99 near Hatch Road.
Reports say that a northbound Volvo sedan struck a man pushing a bicycle. Officials say that the man ran from the east shoulder of Highway 99 near Hatch Road to the center median.
Officials say that the male patient was taken to the hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities say that the driver of the Volvo stayed at the scene and was not hurt due to the collision.
CHP is investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash and has not released additional information.
