BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 18, 2023) – Sunday morning, a tragic pedestrian crash on 9500 Meacham Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. on the 9500 block of Meacham Road.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a car struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons.

As a result, responders rushed the male victim to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Moreover, the vehicle driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

Furthermore, officers believe that speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.
