1 Person Dead in Sun Valley Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway near Tuxford Street

SUN VALLEY, CA (February 21, 2024) – Monday night, a tragic pedestrian crash on 5 Freeway near Tuxford Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 6:31 p.m. on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, near the Tuxford Street exit.

CHP reports said that an unidentified vehicle struck a male pedestrian, and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. Then, authorities confirmed that the victim died at the scene.

Also, officers withheld the identity of the deceased, pending notification to the next of kin.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
