Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Long Beach, Investigation Ongoing
Long Beach, CA (September 21, 2024) On Friday evening, a pedestrian lost his life after the tragic PCH pedestrian crash.
According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), authorities responded to the scene near Pacific Coast Highway and Pasadena Avenue around 11:50 p.m.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. His identity remains undisclosed at this time.
Investigators found that a Lexus sedan, traveling west on Pacific Coast Highway, struck the pedestrian as he crossed outside a marked crosswalk. The driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. Initial findings suggest that neither speed, distracted driving, nor impairment were factors in the collision.
