Tragic Multi-Car Crash on Highway 86 Kills 2 People [Mecca, CA]

Mecca, CA (April 15, 2023) On Thursday evening, a multi-car crash on Highway 8 left 2 people dead.

Cal Fire says that the fatal big rig-sedan collision happened before midnight at the intersection with Avenue 66.

Reports say that a big rig and 2 sedans collided near the intersection. The big rig tipped to its side, while one of the sedans caught fire.

Officials pronounced 2 people dead at the scene, moreover, a 3rd person suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, medics evaluated 2 other people involved in the crash, however, both declined transport.

CHP is investigating the fatal multi-car crash and has not released further details about the crash.
