TEMPE, AZ (August 22, 2023) – Monday morning, a tragic motorcycle crash on Loop 101 near Milepost 9 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 5:10 a.m. on westbound Loop 101 near Milepost 9, just past State Route 101.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, a motorcycle struck a disabled vehicle in the HOV lane. Then, a second vehicle struck the motorcyclist who was already down in the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
