PHOENIX, AZ (April 20, 2023) – Monday afternoon, a tragic motorcycle crash near 51st Avenue and McDowell Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 2:00 p.m. near 51st Avenue and McDowell Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident involved a motorcycle and a second vehicle.

“Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle involved was traveling southbound on 51st Avenue while the motorcycle involved was traveling northbound. The vehicle turned left in front of the motorcycle, at which time the motorcycle struck the vehicle,” the police department revealed.

After the crash, responders took the motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries. However, he later succumbed to injuries. Meanwhile, his identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Moreover, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.

Also, the authorities do not believe that impairment played a role in the crash.
