1 Person Dead in Shasta County Jet Ski Incident on Shannon Cove near Sacramento Point

SHASTA COUNTY, CA (September 10, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a tragic jet ski crash on Shannon Cove near Sacramento Point killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:44 p.m. in Shannon Cove near Sacramento Point, on Lake Shasta.

According to reports, two jet skis collided for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that two occupants of one of the jet skis, a 19-year-old male with a knee injury and an 18-year-old male with injuries to his chin and face, were transported to Bridge Bay Marina for first aid treatment. Then, the 18-year-old became unresponsive and was rushed to a local hospital where the patient was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers withheld the identity of the deceased, pending notification to the next of kin.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate the crash.
