HOUSTON, TX (June 25, 2023) – On Saturday, a tragic hit-and-run crash on Interstate 10 near Federal Road killed one person.

The incident happened on Interstate 10 near Federal Road.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the incident started when authorities attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation. Then, the vehicle refused to pull over and erratically fled the scene. Also, officers disengaged on the chase due to the manner of driving of the suspect.

Moments later, the vehicle, a Dodge Hellcat, collided with another vehicle, causing injuries to the victims. Then, three occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot after the crash.

Moreover, officers confirmed that an occupant of the Hellcat was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Also, responders provided aid to the occupants of the second vehicle with minor injuries.

Furthermore, authorities managed to locate and arrest two occupants of the Hellcat who fled the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
