1 Person Arrested in Houston Pedestrian Accident on 610 West Loop

HOUSTON, TX (August 1, 2023) – Monday morning, a tragic hit-and-run crash on 610 West Loop killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:00 a.m. on Westheimer at the 610 West Loop.

According to HPD Sgt. David Rose, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was carried for some distance and was struck several times by other vehicles.

Officers said that all vehicles involved fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the victim, a man from India, died in the crash.

Furthermore, a woman called HPD to report a man she knew who might have been involved in the incident. Then, authorities responded to an apartment complex about 14 miles away from the scene of the crash and located a vehicle covered in blood.

Also, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for felony hit-and-run charges.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
