1 Person Dead in San Benito Auto Accident on Highway 156 near Flint Road

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA (August 26, 2024) – Sunday morning, a tragic head-on crash on Highway 156 near Flint Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 156 near Flint Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound Nissan Frontier veered into the westbound lanes for still unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Chevy Street Rod.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Chevy, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities believe that alcohol and/or drug intoxication were factors in the crash.

Meanwhile, the incident closed westbound Highway 156 and authorities asked everyone to avoid the area and to find alternate routes.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
