1 Person Dead in Albuquerque Auto Accident on Central Avenue and 47th Street SW

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 20, 2024) – Sunday morning, a tragic head-on crash on Central Avenue and 47th Street SW killed one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and 47th Street SW.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, an eastbound black Dodge truck lost control for unknown reasons, veering into the westbound lanes where it collided head-on with a westbound black Toyota Scion.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Toyota Scion, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver and a passenger of the Dodge to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Albuquerque Police Department continued investigating the crash.
