2 Dead in Grass Valley Auto Accident on Highway 49 and Wolf Road

GRASS VALLEY, CA (May 2, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a tragic fiery crash on Highway 49 and Wolf Road killed 2 people.

Just after noon, the authorities received a report of an overturned pickup truck on Highway 49, north of Wolf/Combie Road.

When multiple agencies arrived, they located a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado on its roof. The vehicle also caught fire about 40 feet from the highway.

According to reports, the car headed north on Highway 49. Then, it drifted off the east side of the highway, down a hillside, overturned into trees, and caught fire.

Then, responders airlifted a second child, with an estimated age of one-years-old, to UC Davis Medical Center in critical condition.

Moreover, officers confirmed that an adult and a child both died in the crash.

Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t disclosed whether drugs, alcohol, or safety equipment played a role in the crash.

Furthermore, they urged witnesses to call CHP Grass Valley at (530) 477-4900.
