Tragic DUI Crash on International Boulevard Kills 39-Year-Old Man [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (June 25, 2023) On Saturday morning, a 39-year-old Alameda man died after a DUI crash on International Boulevard.

Oakland police say that the fatal traffic accident happened on the 2300 block of International Boulevard at around 12:15 a.m.

Reports say that a 21-year-old Alameda man on a 2019 Toyota Camry boarded the 2005 Toyota Avalon the 39-year-old man was driving.

Officials say that Avalon and was making a U-turn when the vehicle was struck by the westbound Camry. Medics says that the Avalon driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where the driver succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old male driver from Alameda fled on foot and called authorities from a nearby store. Medics transported the man to a hospital.

Officers later arrested the 21-year-old Alameda man after showing signs of impairment.

Authorities are investigating the fatal traffic accident.
