SAN LEANDRO, CA (December 20, 2023) – Monday morning, a tragic DUI crash on 600 Lewelling Boulevard killed one person.

The incident happened in the 600 block of Lewelling Boulevard.

According to the San Leandro Police Department, a vehicle struck a female pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders pronounced the victim, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities managed to locate the suspect in the parking lot of a nearby business. Also, officers said that the suspect was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, and felony hit-and-run.
