Tragic 2-Vehicle Collision on 6th Avenue Led to Fatality [Hanford, CA]

(July 20, 2024) On Thursday morning, a 21-year-old driver was killed, while a 25-year-old man was hurt in a horrific 2-vehicle collision on 6th Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal traffic crash happened around 5 a.m. on Highway 198.

Reports say that the collision involved a Chevrolet Silverado and a silver Honda Accord.

Officials say that the Chevy was stopped at the stop sign attempting to cross Highway 198 before it went through the intersection and crashed into the eastbound Honda.

The impact of the collision caused the Honda to roll over several times and ended up in a dirt lot on the other side of the highway. Officials pronounced the 21-year-old driver of the Honda was pronounced dead on scene.

Meanwhile, the pickup overturned and entered an irrigation canal where it came to a stop partially submerged on its passenger right side. The driver of the Chevy sustained minor injuried and was taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the fatal 2-vehicle collision and have not released further information at this time.
