Tragic 2-Car Crash on Interstate 35 Claims a Life [San Marcos, TX]

San Marcos, TX (July 16, 2024) On Monday morning, a woman died and several others were hurt in a tragic 2-car crash on Interstate 35.

According to the San Marcos Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 5:40 a.m. on I-35 northbound towards Exit 208.

Reports say that a white Toyota minivan struck a black SUV, occupied by a female driver and 4 passengers.

Officials say that the impact of the collision ejected the female driver off the vehicle.

Medics say that the female driver was later pronounced dead at Ascension Seton Hays hospital in Kyle, while the 4 other passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota, fled the scene, however, the vehicle crashed into a dumpster, that’s when the driver fled the scene on foot and entered an apartment near FM 110.

Police are seeking warrants for an arrest after identifying the suspect.
