Traffic Stalled after Fife Car Crash
FIFE, WA (March 2, 2020) – A rollover crash caused traffic delays on southbound 5 Freeway on February 28 in Fife.
Authorities received a report of a crash on the 5 Freeway between two vehicles near 70th Avenue East at about 6:30 a.m. The incident led to the closure of three right lanes of the freeway.
Meanwhile, the South King Fire stated that they believe the driver of a pickup truck struck a van that was parked on the shoulder of 5 Freeway. The truck then overturned before coming to a stop in an embankment on the side of the road.
It’s still unclear whether there were injuries in the crash on the 5 freeway because the responders did not find patients at the scene.
Fire officials also reported that they flipped the truck over to look underneath the vehicle, but found nothing.
Crews also utilized thermal imaging cameras to search for any victims that may have been thrown off the vehicle. However, “no subjects were found.”
It is important to always drive within the posted speed limit. Slow down if you see traffic stalling ahead to avoid hitting other vehicles. If you are inebriated, use a ride share app instead of driving yourself.
