Violent Traffic Crash on Interstate 45 Led to Injuries [Buffalo, TX]

Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-45 Injures DPS Trooper

Buffalo, TX (April 06, 2024) On Thursday evening, a DPS trooper and 5 other people were hurt in a traffic crash on Interstate 45.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the multi-vehicle collision happened at about 9:53 p.m. on I-45 south of Buffalo.

Reports say that the driver of a northbound 2004 Mercury attempted to move into the right lane, but hit a 2016 International 18-wheeler, causing the Mercury to return to the left lane, crashing with the DPS Ford Explorer.

The impact of the collision caused the DPS vehicle to roll over.

Medics rushed the trooper to St. Joseph Health Hospital in Madisonville, officials say that the trooper suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver and 4 passengers on the Mercury suffered minor injuries and were taken to Freestone Medical Center. Officials say that the big rig driver escaped injury.

Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the multi-vehicle collision and has not released further details.
