Disastrous Traffic Crash on Catalina Road Injures Motorcyclist [Apple Valley, CA]

Apple Valley, CA (October 26, 2024) On Thursday morning, a motorcycle rider was seriously hurt after a 2-vehicle traffic crash on Catalina Road.

According to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, the horrific crash happened at about 8:46 a.m. at the intersection with Apple Valley Road.

Reports say that a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Apple Valley led to a motorcyclist being airlifted to a hospital.

Authorities say that a 21-year-old Apple Valley motorcyclist was riding a blue and white Suzuki when a gold Toyota Tacoma pickup turned in front of him.

Despite the rider’s attempt to avoid the collision, he was unable to do so, and the impact left him with injuries requiring urgent medical care. He was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, then airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.

The pickup truck driver, 54, and his female passenger were not injured. Southern California Edison (SCE) crews were called to remove a damaged light fixture that had been struck and fallen into the roadway. Apple Valley Road’s southbound lanes were temporarily closed at Sitting Bull Road while authorities cleared the scene.
